Mr. Norman Lamb MP issued to the following Press Statement to the NHS Reform Group in March 2010 pre- election:
"We need to make sure that the NHS starts to take complaints about care much more seriously.
Mistakes will always happen, but the NHS will never learn if the default response is to ignore the concerns of patients and high mortality rates. The NHS needs to have systems in place to investigate cases and learn lessons when the alarm is raised."
