Joanna Slater Launches her new book My Notes a guide to recording you, or your loved ones hospital care in a day-to-day diary.

A very relevant subject that is in the news media every day regarding NHS treatment and care in our hospitals.

Joanna's campaign is to bring awareness to those who are in hospital and to write everything down. Her vision is that if everyone started making notes when they or their loved ones are in hospital, that impact alone would make hospital staff be aware the public are taking action, and noting everything down. This would definitely help to improve the quality and care we get in our hospitals.

Gone are the days when we could put all our faith in the care given while in hospital. Now has come the time to take responsibility and action, to take notes, and write everything down.

Joanna's first book The Last Six Months started out as notes, and developed into a day-to-day diary when her mother went into hospital for a hip operation, sadly she died six months later while still in hospital.

Joanna explains that My Notes is written by YOU the public. It's your day-to-day account of when you or a loved one goes into hospital. It is also a brief guide on what to do and how to complain if you are concerned about any issues on the care you or your loved one is being given while in hospital.

Hopefully, all your notes will be good memories, but should you have any concerns you can write them down as it happens, as it is so easy to forget.

Joanna wants people to learn from her experience, to be aware and write everything down.

Joanna believes that if more people tell their story, one day, someone will listen, and hopefully their news will not just be yesterday's news and forgotten.
