Mid Staffs Public Inquiryposted on 5 September 2010 | posted in Public InquiriesThe Public Inquiry into the failings of the Mid Staffs NHS Hospital is now ongoing. ![]() Congratulations Cure the NHS for getting this Hospital's failings highlighted. You can visit the Official Mid Staffs Public Inquiry here: www.midstaffspublicenquiry.com The NHS REFORM GROUP has found the Press Statement made by the Department of Health to the Telegraph 3/7/10 quite absurd: "While this was an awful case, it was highly unusual that such poor quality care and patient complaints could go undetected in the NHS for so long and we will make sure that this cannot happen again". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/5722853/Hospital-failures-like-Mid-Staffordshire-scandal-could-be-repeated-say-MPs.htm Our members come from ALL over the UK and the terrible examples of poor care such as elderly patients having to drink from flower vases, having their buzzers taken away or being allowed to lay in their own urine, faeces or blood just seems to be the NORM in today's NHS. We will be asking Mr. Andrew Lansley, Health Minister and Ms. Jenny Jackson his Chief Advisor about this statement, as we have just presented to the Prime Minister, a dossier of NHS horror stories from across the UK which show exactly that what happened at Mid Staffs NHS Hospital is NOT "highly unusual"! We would urge any member of the UK public who has suffered at the hands of the NHS and then come up against a plethora of advisory bodies when they dared to complain, to submit their summaries giving examples how obstructive the supposed regulatory bodies have been!
